To Finish the Course
Acts 20:24

Mother Teresa on surrendering personal comfort to complete the calling God assigns — a call relevant to every believer, not only missionaries.
δρόμον
dromon · Greek NT“course, race”
From dramein, to run. Paul pictures his apostolic life as a defined race with a fixed finish line. The image echoes athletic contests familiar to his audience — the course is not chosen by the runner but laid out by the one who sends.
Paul does not cling to his own safety or comfort. His single ambition is to finish the course assigned by Jesus — to testify to the grace of God until the end. This is not grim resignation but radical freedom: when our life belongs to God's purpose, we are released from the exhausting work of protecting ourselves.
Mother Teresa understood this surrender as availability. She did not calculate the cost; she simply remained open to whatever God wrote through her. Ask yourself today: Am I running the course God has laid out, or have I been designing my own track? Finishing well begins with yielding the pen.
