Deep Research

A verse-by-verse journey through the whole Bible — taking each text down to its roots.

One verse. All the way down.

Genesis 1:1 → Revelation — plus the Book of Jubilees

Most Bible study skims the surface. Deep Research does the opposite: it takes a single verse and works it all the way down — through the Bible dictionaries, the ancient Near-Eastern and Second-Temple world behind it, its most important words, its connections across the whole canon, and the best academic scholarship — and then asks what it means for a changed life. Every study opens with an Author & Audience foundation (who wrote this, to whom, in what situation?) and sets every Scripture in the Septuagint (LXX) and the ESV. Terms are tap-to-define, and every reference links to the rest of the library.

The Texts Behind Your Bible

Why translations differ, which Hebrew and Greek texts this library prints, and why — with the differences shown rather than hidden. If you have ever wondered about a footnote that says “some manuscripts read…,” start here. Read it →

How this library grows

New verse studies are published continually, working forward from Genesis 1:1 toward Revelation, with the Book of Jubilees given the same research-method treatment alongside the canon. As each study lands, its book turns live above and its references interlink with the rest — so over time this becomes a single, cross-woven commentary on the whole Bible.

Pleasant Springs Church — Deep Research

Research method after Michael S. Heiser’s Bible Research Method (examine dictionaries → ancient literature → important words → textual connections → academic publications → share), with the Pleasant Springs “Author & Audience” foundation. Scripture set in the Hebrew, the Greek editions named on each page and the ESV (Old Testament), and the Greek New Testament and the ESV (New Testament), per the practice of Pleasant Springs Church.
