How Pleasant Springs Church handles your information when you visit ps-church.com, subscribe, give, or sign in.
Contents
1. Who we are
Pleasant Springs Church is a small congregation in Pinson, Tennessee. This site, ps-church.com, is operated by the church for the purpose of teaching, fellowship, and connecting with our local and online community. In this policy, "we," "us," and "our" mean Pleasant Springs Church.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
- Newsletter signup (/subscribe): the email address you provide.
- Contact form (/contact): your name, email, and the message you send.
- Account creation (members, students, donors): your name, email, and either a password you choose or an identifier from a sign-in provider you use (see Section 6).
- Donations (/give and /donate): your name, email, billing address, donation amount, and any note you include. Card and bank details are entered on Stripe's secure pages — we never see or store them.
- Cemetery inquiries (/cemetery-search): if you contact us about a memorial, the message you send.
Information we collect automatically
- Server logs: standard web logs including your IP address, browser, device type, the pages you visit, the time of the visit, and the referring page. Used for security and to fix problems.
- Session cookies: small files that keep you signed in and remember basic preferences while you browse.
- Page-view tracking: counts of how many times each page is viewed. We do not build profiles of individual visitors from this data.
3. How we use your information
- To send the weekly devotional and church updates if you have subscribed
- To respond to your messages and prayer requests
- To provide access to your member portal, online courses, and giving history
- To process donations, send receipts, and keep accurate financial records
- To keep the site running, secure, and free of abuse
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not run advertising on this site, and we do not share your data with advertisers.
4. Who we share with
We share information only with service providers who help us operate the site, and only with the data they need to do their job:
- Stripe — processes donations. See Stripe's privacy policy.
- Frappe Cloud — hosts the site and stores church records. See Frappe Cloud's privacy policy.
- Google, Facebook, and Apple — only if you choose to sign in with one of those providers (see Section 6).
- Email delivery — newsletters and transactional email are sent through the email service configured on our server.
We may also disclose information if required by law, by court order, or to protect the safety of our members or the public.
5. Cookies and tracking
We use cookies for two narrow purposes: keeping you signed in to your account, and counting page views so we can see which lessons people read. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies at any time; if you do, parts of the site that require sign-in will not work.
6. Sign-in providers (Google, Facebook, Apple)
You can choose to create an account or sign in using your existing Google, Facebook, or Apple account. When you do, the provider sends us:
- Your email address
- Your name (and profile picture, if you have one) — used only to populate your account profile
We never see your provider password. The provider tells us only what you have approved on their consent screen. You can revoke that connection at any time from your provider's account settings.
7. Children's privacy
This site is intended for adults and families. Our children's discipleship resources (including PS Kids) are designed to be used by children alongside a parent or guardian and do not require a child to create an account or submit personal information. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental involvement. If you believe a child has provided us with information without a parent's consent, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe: every newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom.
- See or correct your data: members can update their own profile from the members portal. For anything else, email us and we will help.
- Delete your account: email us and we will close your account and remove personal data. We may keep a record of past donations as required for accounting and tax reporting.
- Object or restrict: if you live in a region with laws like the GDPR or CCPA, you have additional rights — contact us and we will honor them.
9. How long we keep data
- Server logs: typically a few weeks, then rotated out.
- Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe.
- Member and donor records: kept while you are an active member or donor, plus the period required by federal and Tennessee tax-record retention rules.
- Contact form messages: kept long enough to respond and follow up; longer if your message is part of an ongoing pastoral or administrative matter.
10. Security
We protect your information with encrypted connections (HTTPS), strong password rules, lockouts after repeated failed sign-in attempts, and encrypted storage of secrets and passwords. No system is perfectly secure, so we ask members to choose a strong password and keep it private.
11. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when we change how we handle your information. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent change. Significant changes will also be announced in the newsletter.
