🎯 The Big Idea

God’s family has room for everyone — every skin color, every age, boys and girls, from every part of the world!

🌍 The Story: Paul’s Friends

A man named Paul traveled all over the world telling people about Jesus. Along the way, he made lots and lots of friends. At the end of one of his letters (to a church in a big city called Rome), he wrote a list of all the people he loved.

And guess what? His friends were all different! There were:

  • 👩 Women who were leaders — like Phoebe, who carried Paul’s letter
  • 👨‍🦱 Men who worked hard for the church — like Aquila
  • 🌎 People from different countries — Jews and Greeks and Romans
  • 👶 Old people and young people — Paul called one woman his “mom”!
  • 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 People who used to be slaves and people who used to be rich

Paul didn’t care if you were tall or short, young or old, from here or far away. If you loved Jesus, you were family.

🏠 What Does “Family” Mean?

Your family at home is the people who love you, take care of you, and live with you. God’s family is kind of like that — but way bigger!

In God’s family:

  • ❤️ Everyone is welcome — nobody gets left out
  • 🤝 We help each other — like when your friend falls down and you help them up
  • 🌟 We all have different gifts — some people are great singers, some are great at being kind, some are great at sharing
  • 😊 We love each other even when it’s hard

🤔 Think About It!

  1. Who are some people in your church family? Are they all the same, or are they different?
  2. Have you ever felt left out? How did that feel? How can you make sure no one at church feels left out?
  3. What’s one special thing you can do to help God’s family?

✨ Activity: The Family Quilt

Give everyone a square piece of paper. Each person decorates their square to show something special about themselves — their favorite color, animal, or what makes them happy. Then tape all the squares together into one big “quilt.” That’s God’s family: lots of different pieces that make one beautiful picture!

“Dear God, thank You for making Your family so big and so different. Thank You that I belong. Help me to love everyone in Your family — even people who are different from me. Amen.”
